Zero Day - Summerside, PEI

Jeremy and Skipper take a break in PEI

Zero Day - Summerside, PEI

Date: Thursday, August 24, 2023

Another zero day spent with family, so this will be vague and quick!

We woke up in beds and life was good!  I immediately set about blogging and my uncle started breakfast.  We had a great big breakfast and a quiet morning chatting about the trip and catching up on the most recent days of the trip.

DE-LICIOUS!

After breakfast, Skipper washed the bicycles and I tried to focus on blogging.  I managed to get out two posts by about 1pm which meant I was only 3 days behind!

We decided to go out for a bit of a local tour, and my aunt and uncle drove us around parts of town.  I was really surprised to find out just how much the town had grown in the years since I'd last been there.  After this we found a brewery and ordered beer.  We tasted, quaffed, and spent more time catching up.  When this was done, we opted for a second location and sat on a patio overlooking the water!

After this we went home and had dinner.  It was another wonderful meal and I cannot thank my aunt and uncle enough for making sure we were well fed!

The rolls were a favourite

After dinner we went to Cousins Beach on the North coast of the province.  My cousin and his family were camping on the beach with some friends and we drove out and joined them for an hour just after the sun had set.  One the ride to and from I played Stompin' Tom Connors and he giggled at the songs that referenced so many places we'd visited along this trip so far.

Once at the beach we watched as the last of the light dissipated on the horizon.  The stars came out bright and we enjoyed staring up and enjoying the spectacle.  Children played with glow sticks nearby and the kids with us played with sparklers.  They'd been out on a deep sea fishing trip and caught a bunch of cod that day.

After an hour, Skipper and I drove back to Summerside and went to bed.  It had been a bright and beautiful day!
